My Story

Why I started Little by Little

Not because I've done something big. Because I believe you don't have to.

My dad passed away before I was born. I never got to know him — but I've grown up hearing about the kind of person he was, and living in the shadow of a legacy that was never about him.

There's a trust named after him that helps underprivileged children get an education. It's a quiet thing, not flashy, just steady work that's been changing lives for years. Growing up around that taught me something I don't think I could have learned any other way: that a life can leave something good behind, long after it's over, just by choosing to serve other people.

Helping others can create a legacy that outlasts you.

I didn't set out to build something big. I'm young, I don't have much, and I didn't want to wait until I did. I wanted to start something of my own — small, honest, and centred on serving others — because I kept coming back to the same thought: what's stopping me from starting now?

So Little by Little began the way most small things begin — with one project, a few people who said yes, and a belief that if we did the small thing in front of us, it would be enough. It still is.

This isn't about me. It never was. It's about the children at a home who needed support, the classroom that needed a coat of paint, the school that needed pencils and books. I'm just the person who got to start it — and I get to keep learning, alongside everyone who joins in, what it looks like to serve well.

You don't have to wait until you're older, richer or more experienced to make a difference. You can start with what you have, where you are — little by little.

If that's true for me, I believe it's true for you too. Whatever you have — an hour, a skill, a spare box of stationery, a willingness to show up — it's enough to start with.

The heart behind it

A faith that shows up in action

Little by Little is Christ-driven — rooted in a simple belief that we're called to love our neighbours, serve with what we have, and show up for the people around us. You don't need to share that faith to be part of this. You just need to be willing to start small.
