Our Projects

Small projects. Real people helped.

Every project starts small — a need someone tells us about, a handful of people who say yes, and a few hours of work together. Here's what we've done so far.

Christine Revell Children's Home

A home for children who need one — and a community that keeps showing up to support them. This was one of our very first projects, and it's grown into an ongoing relationship: fundraising, dropping off what's needed, and simply spending time with the children.

  • What we did: Ran a giving drive, donated bags of clothing, formula and toys, and visit regularly to spend time with the children.
  • Who we helped: The children and staff of Christine Revell Children's Home.
  • Impact: R10,000+ raised, plus bags of donated clothes, formula and toys, and many afternoons spent playing, reading and being present.

Kleenvrygeestes School — Hout Bay

A hands-on painting project where volunteers came together to paint the whole school — every tired, grey wall turned into something bright. The goal was simple: give the children a more welcoming place to learn. We also collected over 100 stationery items for the school along the way.

  • What we did: A team of volunteers painted the entire school, wall by wall, and ran a stationery drive for the classrooms.
  • Who we helped: The learners and teachers of Kleenvrygeestes School.
  • Impact: A whole underprivileged school freshly painted, and 100+ stationery items collected and handed out.

Red Cross Children's Hospital

Hospital stays are hard at any age, harder still for a child. We put together care baskets to bring a little comfort and fun to children being treated at Red Cross Hospital — small things to hold onto during a hard time.

  • What we did: Collected and packed care baskets filled with colouring books, toys, slime and teddies.
  • Who we helped: Children being treated at Red Cross Children's Hospital.
  • Impact: A basket of comfort and play delivered to children who needed a bright spot in their day.

The Haven Night Shelter

Everyone deserves a warm meal. We collected rice, lentils, soup and other staple ingredients and packed them up to help feed people staying at The Haven Night Shelter.

  • What we did: Collected and packed staple ingredients — rice, lentils, soup, stock — for the shelter's kitchen.
  • Who we helped: Residents of The Haven Night Shelter.
  • Impact: Enough ingredients collected to feed over 100 people.

Flowers & Encouraging Notes for Hospital Staff

A small one — but sometimes the smallest acts land the deepest. We left roses and handwritten notes of encouragement on cars in a hospital parking lot, for the doctors, nurses and staff who show up and give so much every day.

  • What we did: Left a rose and a handwritten note of encouragement on cars in the hospital parking lot.
  • Who we helped: Hospital staff — doctors, nurses and everyone working hard behind the scenes.
  • Impact: A small surprise of encouragement for people who give so much of themselves.
